Steam Ejectors

Steam Ejectors – For Single Stage Devices

Process Vacuum is an expert in vacuum systems and steam ejectors for various industries and applications. We have been instrumental in the design and development of the steam ejector from comparatively crude single stage devices which has evolved into what we now know today as the extremely efficient multi-stage systems.

Multi-stage steam ejectors are utilised for evacuating and maintaining the vacuum in many industrial processes such as desalination, degassing, distillation columns, deodorising as well as evaporation fractioning. It is also used for turbine condensing, freeze drying and vacuum cooling. However, applications are not limited to steam, as we also provide gas, water and air operated ejectors fit for a wide variety of applications to be used across the process industries.

Manufacturing Of Ejector Systems

We specialise in the process and mechanical design of steam ejectors and ejector systems. We also focus in refinery vacuum systems and vacuum distillation units. Our ejector systems are designed for rough to medium vacuums – 1013 to 10-3 mbar. It also has a single stage compression ratio of typically 6:1 and a maximum practical CP of 12 for steam and 5 for air.

Our ejector systems can also be arranges to form the multi-stage systems widely used by the process industries. These could vary from the surface type, or shell and tube type, and the jet condensers. These multi-stage arrangements will allow for lower suction pressures to be achieved than what would have been able to be produced through a single stage ejector.

Motive steam is economized on by inter-stage condensers. This is done since the operating steam from stages upstream of the condenser is condensed. This will only leave saturated incondensable gasses which are to be handled by the following stages.

Our spray or jet condensers will operate simply by condensing steam by being directly put into contact with the cooling water. These types of ejectors are to be located at the barometric height or at low level, making use of a condensate extraction pump. However jet condensers do tend to make use of less cooling water than surface type condensers.

We offer multistage ejector and liquid ring pump combinations where the liquid ring pump will completely replace the final stage of the steam ejector system. This will allow for large vapour and gas flows to be handled at considerably low pressures. This is associated with a multistage steam ejectors set. This will also reduce steam consumption and ultimately the associated operating costs.

The ejector as well as the liquid ring pump combinations can be supplied making use of the BOC Edwards designed liquid pump rings which we also supply. Our Bareshaft pumps are imported from Edwards High Vacuum U.K. BOC Edwards offers comprehensive design services which is based unequalled process vacuum experiences, application knowledge and design ability.

Our steam ejectors are designed and rigorously tested to withstand the most critical and vigorous quality control processes, and conforms fully to international quality standards and best practices. Our customers have come to rely on our quality products and services and continue to trust Process Vacuum for all their steam ejector requirements.
